How Can I Help?
Your financial gift is the most important single action you can take to help the vulnerable children and elderly in Georgia. U.S. dollars have great purchasing power in Georgia. This fact, when combined with AFG’s hands-on-project monitoring of our Georgian partners, means that your gift is multiplied many times over.

AFG: Projects: Children: Environment

As a result of the hard social and economic situation, Georgians were cutting down the forests, the trees in public parks and the trees in public squares for firewood.  AFG is assisting the Center for Ecology under the Georgian Patriarchy in starting a summer ecology school and a nursery for 6,000 trees.

  • Mother Tekla’s Ecology School  --  This summer school for city children ages 10-15 teaches children about the natural world and how to protect it.   (Learn More Click Here)

  • NGO Wild Plant Conservation Association  --  11 and 12 year old refugee children (IDPs) from Abkhazia are receiving nutritious breakfasts as they learn about plant propagation in the garden, in the greenhouse and in the laboratory. (Learn More Click Here)
